Room to Grow: The Benefits of Scalable Workspaces

All over the world, traditional office setups are being displaced by flexible workspaces and serviced offices, with 2025 data showing that these solutions have been adopted by 55% of global corporations

Ireland, and particularly Dublin, has been an early and eager adopter of what is no longer a trend, but a core pillar of today’s workplace market. And it’s no wonder: with hybrid work becoming the norm, conventional office setups no longer suit most companies.

But it’s not only the expectation of flexibility from employees that makes serviced offices appealing; the binding lease terms and high upfront costs of traditional offices no longer match the needs of modern businesses.

By contrast, scalable workplaces are designed to grow with and adapt to the requirements of many types of companies. They offer flexibility and affordability for start-ups and ventures in the early stages of development, allowing them to choose solutions that suit them best, whether that’s a hot desk, dedicated desk or a private office.

And when it’s time to grow, there’s no need for big transitions or expensive moves. As teams expand, businesses can opt for bigger dedicated desk areas, small offices or larger serviced offices in the same environment that already works for them.

“The View expands and shrinks as and when we need it”

“I was ‘hotdesking’ here before I officially launched my business. With two small children and a puppy at home, The View gave me the space I needed to think,” recalls Michelle O’Keeffe, co-founder of Platform55.

Now celebrating its fifth year of success, Platform55 offers scalable solutions for organisations that want to make progress in gender equality, employee engagement, and leadership capabilities.

“This isn’t my first start-up and, having had to fold a venture before, I understand how fixed costs that can strangle a business. The View gave us the flexibility to grow without massive commercial restrictions,” Michelle explains.

As Platform55 started to take shape, Michelle committed to a dedicated desk: “Later, when I realised I spent most of my time doing business development, which meant I was constantly on calls, I moved to a small private office out of respect for other ‘hotdeskers.’"

Not long after, her professional needs evolved again: Platform55 hired a CFO and a BDO and thus transitioned to a bigger private office. “The View expands and shrinks as and when we need it,” says Michelle, referring to her entrepreneurial journey, but also to how simple it is to leverage the common spaces on offer.

From hosting client meetings and extended team catch-ups in the meeting room to celebrating their 4th anniversary in the social area last year, The View has become Platform55’s flexible home.

What’s the best part of working here? Michelle doesn’t hesitate: “The peer community! My cup gets filled by talking to other people, and the support here is phenomenal.”

Flexible, simple solutions to your business needs

Scalable workspaces offer the possibility of upgrading your work environment as you require it, without the disruption of relocating or incurring great costs. But their benefits go much further.

At The View, members have access to shared amenities that range from phone booths and meeting rooms to free coffee, a shared kitchen and IT support. The View also runs a Work Well programme for members, which promotes a sense of community, provides networking opportunities and prioritises a healthy work/life balance.

Utilities, maintenance and other services are also included. And those with private offices or dedicated desks can avail of 24/7 access to the facilities, making it easy to work across time zones or to simply find a quiet place to focus when you need it most.

We currently have two large private offices available at The View. If this sounds like the ideal place to nurture your business, get in touch with us at reception@theview.ie or join our waitlist here.
