How we’re kicking off 2025 with fitness and community

As the focus on workplace wellness continues to grow, it’s becoming clear that prioritising employee wellbeing is no longer just a trend, but a key driver of both business success and employee satisfaction, as this recent article in the Irish Examiner outlines.

This January we’re running movement-focused activities that strive to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of our members and support them in leading healthier, more balanced lives.

At The View, our community lies at the heart of our Work Well programme, and we’re proud to contribute to this transformative shift in workplace culture. A cornerstone of our wellness philosophy is movement and exercise, one of our top wellness tips for fostering a healthier lifestyle

Kicking off 2025 with wellness events

Pilates Morning
Last Thursday, we hosted an invigorating Pilates session led by Clare Welsh. Clare guided participants through mindful stretches and core-strengthening exercises, leaving everyone feeling refreshed and energised for the day ahead. We were delighted to see members from various organisations join us for this morning session.

The Great Step Challenge
We’re also launching the Great Step Challenge in conjunction with the new Marina 1 Gym, opening soon across Malahide Marina! Kicking off on Monday, January 27th, this friendly competition invites participants to track their daily steps and aim for collective milestones. The participant with the most steps at the end of the challenge will win a free one-month membership to Marina 1 Gym!

Beyond promoting physical activity, it’s a fantastic way to stay active, connect with others, and build a strong sense of community. The challenge runs until February 28th, so let’s get moving together!

Incorporating movement into your day

Taking time to move during the workday doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are some easy ways to embrace movement:

  • Take movement breaks: Set a timer to get up every hour, stretch, or take a quick lap around the office.

  • Desk exercises: Try simple stretches or movements you can do at your workstation.

  • Use your lunch hour wisely: Take a walk into the village along the marina, attend a fitness class, or simply get outside for some fresh air.

  • Team fitness goals: Foster team spirit by setting shared movement or fitness challenges.

  • Practice good desk posture: Support your body with ergonomic adjustments, such as making sure your monitor is at eye level and arm’s length away.

  • Try a standing desk: Alternate between sitting and standing to keep your body active and support blood flow.

  • Cycle to work: Check out the Bike to Work Scheme - a government initiative to promote healthier commutes and reduce pollution. At The View, bike racks are available right outside our door.
