About My Work

I work for a Biopharmaceutical company called Insmed. Our global corporate HQ is in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and we have offices throughout Europe and in Japan. We are on a mission to transform the lives of patients living with serious and rare diseases.

We have one main product for now with plans to release more over the coming years. I report into our Utrecht NL office and my title is Customer Service and Logistics Manager for EMEA. Basically, I manage the Order to cash process, the receipt of orders and supply to our patients/customers throughout the EMEA region.. I travel to Utrecht monthly to visit the office there and meet up with my boss and our team.

I started my career in Supply Chain in Intel Ireland and have worked for several global technology companies before moving into the Pharma world. I really enjoy working for Insmed as the company and leadership team are very passionate about helping patients in everything we do. The photo attached show some of my team when we visited New Jersey HQ last year.

Insmed have a Day of Good where all staff are encouraged to support charities or give back to their communities . We were assisting renovating a summer camp for people with special needs.

Co working experience

I was very impressed when our company decided to take office space in the View. We have a small number of Irish employees mostly based around the North side of Dublin, so they decided on this location where it suits the majority. We’ve attended a small number of the end of month engagements and met some of the other workers which was great. I was here before during its tenure as Caruso’s restaurant so it was interesting to see how it changed. The proximity to my home is also very positive.

What keeps me well

I live in Donabate which is very close and am married with 2 teenage boys. I coach a local football team at U17 level and played o35 football until very recently. Age is catching up so my football activity is reducing and I use the gym 3-4 times a week to keep fit.

Living close to the sea allows me to spend a lot of time of the beach with my wife and dog and I swim a few times a week when possible.

What's the best career advice you've received?

Stop procrastinating. Get things done ASAP. I sometimes overthink and delay actions. Working in Supply Chain, time is usually a priority.

What's your favourite book/series/film and why?

Favourite Book - A Christmas Carol. I love Christmas and have reread this several times.

Series –  I really Liked Mad Men when it was out and how it showed the transformation in society from the start to the end of the 1960s. A more recent one closer to home that I really liked was Bad Sisters and it was great to see some scenes outside the View.

Film – The Last of the Mohicans by Michael Mann is one I always go back to . I’m passionate about history and I loved the soundtrack for this movie also.( I do have a soft spot for the original Point Break with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves though)

What does the future of work look like for you?

AI seems to be taking over and standard administration can be supported by this technology.

We’ve seen so much change over the past few years from the office environment to a hybrid home working but personally I still prefer direct interaction with colleagues.
