About my Work

I am a Solicitor working for ResMed a multinational company in the healthcare sector. The Company helps patients with COPD and sleep apnea. This is an area that I am keen to support as a close family member has COPD.

Co working experience

I continue to be very impressed with The View. The layout is very conducive to working and the staff here are very helpful. I like the fact that The View is  only a 7 minute drive from where I live as the companys office  I work for is a long commute in traffic so having an office to go to locally is very much appreciated.

What keeps me well

I am a big fan of water based activities be it swimming, kayaking, rowing or sailing. Being by the water is a great attraction here at The View. In my spare time I organise a kayak club for kids here in Malahide which I set up during Covid to provide an opportunity for kids to get fresh air and exercise when many activities were closed. The club is thriving now and growing. We also support kids with disabilities and neurodiversity and are expanding on this with the support of Fingal County Council, Dublin Airport Authority and Canoe Ireland.

Water is a great medium to help kids relax and have fun and the club will have paddleboarding as the weather warms up to expand on its offering.

Career Advice

Best career advice I received is to keep learning and developing your skillset. We are never too old or know enough not to be able to learn something new.

Also an older person told me that there is a good reason why we have two ears and one mouth and to use our communications in that ratio. Its a skill I am still trying to master !

Films and Books

I read Knowing No Boundaries by Hannah Daly recently which is about her journey to becoming an Occupational Therapist as she is both dyspraxic and dyslexic. As a parent of kids with dyspraxia and dyslexia the book was hugely helpful and educational.

I also read Fight or Flight by Keith Earls and was very impressed with its raw honesty. That he wrote it while still playing at international level took courage.

I am a Bruce Springsteen fan and enjoyed watching Springsteen on  Broadway. Am hoping to see him live in a few months time.

Future for me

Over the next few years I will reduce my time in the corporate world and  I plan to expand on kayaking and water sports to cater for both fully abled kids and  kids with additional needs.

A big thanks to Richie on his support to the club which is greatly appreciated by me.
