Mental Health Week 2025: Community at Work

Mental Health Week 12th - 18th of May

This year's Mental Health Week, from May 12th to 18th, shines a light on the vital role of "Community" in our wellbeing. In today's evolving work landscape, where flexible and remote working are increasingly common, nurturing connections can sometimes take a backseat. While remote work offers undeniable flexibility, the reduced daily social interaction can, for many, lead to feelings of isolation and a blurring of work-life boundaries. Coworking spaces like The View offer more than just a desk; they provide a crucial framework for structure, balance and, most importantly, connection.

Here’s what we’re doing to ensure our members feel part of a community.

At The View, building community isn't an afterthought – it's integral to our ethos. We understand that a supportive network can significantly impact mental health, providing a buffer against stress and fostering a sense of belonging that extends beyond professional interactions.

How The View Fosters Community and Supports Mental Health

Our Work Well Programme

Our motto, 'Work Well', encapsulates our commitment to creating a space where everyone feels comfortable, supported and genuinely connected. From spontaneous collaborations to dedicated member events, wellbeing is woven into the fabric of our daily interactions.

To mark National Workplace Wellbeing Day, we were delighted to share our Wellness Book, a resource filled with practical tips, designed to help members bring more balance and positivity into their workday. From digital wellbeing, moving your body more in an office, to resetting after a long day. We’ve created a full checklist to make sure you are taking all the steps towards a more balanced workday.

Tips for Building Community

Drawing from the Mental Health Ireland’s  insights, here are some practical ways to build community, particularly within a professional and coworking context:

"Find Like-Minded People": Take the initiative to connect with those in your industry or with shared interests. Attend networking events or simply strike up a conversation in our social areas.

"Show Kindness to Others": Small acts of support and consideration can go a long way in building a positive community.

"Connect Online": Utilise online platforms or professional networking sites to stay connected, share insights, and build relationships beyond the physical workspace.

"Give Back": Consider sharing your expertise to your community or workspace. This not only benefits others but also strengthens your own connections and sense of purpose.

"Welcome Others": Creating a welcoming environment is a joint effort and a simple greeting can make a difference in someone else’s workplace experience.

Our Community

We are deeply grateful for the incredible community that defines The View. Thanks to our engaged and supportive members, we have fostered a truly special environment, proving time and again the power of community. We feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by such a diverse circle of individuals, each bringing their unique backgrounds and careers to our space. The richness of this diversity provides endless opportunities for learning, sharing and genuine bonding. The View’s members truly enrich the co-working experience for everyone.

We believe that by fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging meaningful interactions, we can contribute positively to the mental health and overall wellbeing of our members. We encourage everyone to actively participate in building this community, both within The View and in their wider lives. Let's make connection and kindness a priority, not just during Mental Health Week, but every day.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting your wellbeing, we're delighted to announce that we'll be hosting a 30-minute talk this week, Thursday, May 15th at 11:00 AM, right here at The View. We'll be joined by Adam from our neighbours at Marina Gym 1, who will be sharing valuable insights on the powerful connection between nutrition and mental wellbeing.
