Our 5th Birthday! A Look Back at Our Journey

On the 8th of June we turned 5!  It was a pleasure to welcome View members and their families to our office for a festive summer barbecue to mark the occasion.

Since day one, our mission has been to cater to the individual needs of our members, creating not only a place to work well closer to home, but also fostering a sense of community within modern co-working culture. In this blog we will reflect on the milestones we’ve reached, celebrate our growth, and most importantly, acknowledge the people who have helped shape The View into what it is today.

A Look Back at The View's Journey

The View opened on June 8th, 2020, in the heart of Malahide with a mission to offer flexible, modern workspaces closer to home. Designed to support all working styles, from hot-desking once a week to full-time private offices, it aimed to eliminate commuting stress while providing top-tier facilities, great coffee and inspiring views.

From the start, The View set out to be a local business hub, a place where professionals could connect, collaborate and grow. Five years on, it has evolved into a vibrant community of business owners, creatives, hybrid teams and entrepreneurs, many of whom have partnered on projects and built lasting professional relationships.

Opening during the pandemic posed early challenges, with limited capacity and distancing measures. Starting small, The View now hosts 45 permanent companies and many part-time users.

As members’ needs evolved, so did the space, adding larger offices, more phone booths and upgraded kitchen amenities. While hot-desking remains popular, the post-pandemic shift toward privacy led to more enclosed offices and flexible work areas, allowing members to choose how they work best.

Key Achievements and Milestones

One of our biggest achievements has been building a strong and connected community. Over the years, The View has become more than just a place to work, it’s a space where people support each other, collaborate and grow together.

We’re proud to work alongside members like Grey Dog and b-wave, who not only run their businesses from The View but have also partnered with us directly on marketing and web projects.

Our WorkWell Programme has been a big success, promoting member wellbeing through fitness, mindfulness, and more. We've also championed sustainability through our Zero to Landfill initiative in partnership with another member company, Conscious Kitchens.

Celebrating the Community

What makes The View truly special is its people. Over the years, we’ve welcomed a diverse mix of professionals from freelancers and creatives to startups and remote teams, creating a space where collaboration and community thrive.

Our team plays a big part in this, helping to foster a welcoming, supportive environment every day.

"Since our office moved to The View, we have grown from strength. Being by the sea and having a fantastic view only helps you mentally and improves performance."

Angelo Orsini - Your World Healthcare

We’ve shared plenty of great moments together, from summer BBQs and Santa visits to pizza and beer catch-ups. Workshops and talks on everything from wellbeing to leadership have brought real value and connection to our members.

Being part of the Malahide community has always been central to who we are. We’re proud to support local businesses and offer a place where people can work, grow, and feel at home.

Looking Ahead

As we look ahead, our vision remains the same: to be the place where our members do their best work. Whether they need high-speed internet, a breakout space or just a sunny balcony for a coffee break.

Over the next five years, we’ll keep growing our community, encouraging collaboration and evolving with the changing world of work. We're always open to change and committed to listening to member feedback so we can adapt our space and services to what people truly need.

Thank you to our incredible members, team and the Malahide community for being such a big part of the journey so far. We’re excited for what’s ahead and even more excited to grow with the people who make The View what it is. Here's to the next five years!
